Basepin’s organized, user friendly format enables enhances project coordination among many varying building professionals and provides a comprehensive historic record of decision making throughout the design process so resolutions are tracked accordingly and all parties can see the evolution and rationale of design choices. Basepin also allows a very streamlined process for transitioning into the asset management phase of a development since coordination of documents and happens in real time and teams aren’t scrambling at the end of the project to gather close out documents for the property managers.
Basepin forces teams to engage in an integrated manner, many issues are resolved at the design table and not through costly change orders in the field. Also, since issues are resolved in weekly meeting in real time using on-line meeting software like GoToMeeting, there is a significant reduction in the number of RFIs that generated for a typically project. This cuts down on construction administration costs and allows the design teams to focus their attention on quality control in the field where it should be.

We utilized the Basepin management system for coordination of MEP systems on the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV. This is a great way for coordination team to organize and track issues, particularly for a large hospital project. Also, Basepin is a good tool to help the detailers remain accountable to each other, and for the manager to track progress and maintain the sign off schedule. I would highly recommend that projects with complex MEP systems use the Basepin management system.
